Hay, NSW, Australia We have been in Hay for two days now, the first day we got all towing gear sorted out, and did a few tows late in the afternoon. Paris is here with the new Wills glider, fiberglass curved tips, and the new airfoil uprights. It does not look like a Fusion anymore, and according to Paris it does not fly like one either.
Yesterday a front moved in while we were getting ready to tow, by the time we got up it was totally overcast and little wind. Andreas got away at first tow and went 97 km west, Gordon and I used two tows, and got away almost 2 hours after Andreas, we landed 58 km out at around 19:00. Some of the French team arrived yesterday, and some Australians today. There was no flying today as it was thunderstorms this morning, we spent the day making adjustments to the gliders.
By now it’s 16:00 and cleared up, the Americans went to do some late tows, there’s some cumulus development. We’ll go to dinner instead.
We’re driving to Hay for some car towing now, writing this from a computer shop in Goldburn.
We got the gliders and car, AC did not work but we’re having it fixed as I’m writing. We flew at Stanwell park and Hill 60 for a few days, but a front moved in with some rain so we’re heading inland for the heat and dry weather. The gliders go great, and everything seems to be ready for the comps.
Lots of people here, Thomas have gone off for some sailplane comps, so he will not fly with us. Guess he had enough with a few new world records.
There’s supposed to be GSM coverage in Hay so I can post some news via the phone.
I’m leaving to Australia in a few hours. I’ll update these pages whenever I can find a internet connection. I’ll be flying the Australian nationals in Hay, and the Forbes Flatlands 2001. Might fly a few days of the Bogong cup as well.

Thomas is back for sure! Now I’m really looking forward to the flying in Oz, must be pretty good conditions for flights like that.
This site had to move, and it happened before I thought it would. The server is now back up, sorry to all of you who tried to access it without answer. Let me know if there’s any problems.
On saturday it was actually possible to soar on sundvollen, I had to work of course… Reliable sources speak of strong winds, and great flying. Here’s the source as wav sound file :-) as left on Erik’s “mobilsvar”
It’s still raining… Amazing how far away the summer seems now. Well, I’m going to Australia in a few weeks, maybe it’ll stop raining there by then.
I’ve updated these pages a little, it’s still work in progress, but the homepage, and photo album is totally reworked. Let me know if there’s problems.
Erik and I got a short flight off Ringerud last Friday. It was foggy, and started to snow while we were ridge soaring under the condensing fog. Great to be back in the air again, and it was a beautiful to fly over the snow covered trees. Olav and Fredrik vere drivers and film-crew :-)
