Lots of people flew at Sundvollen last Sunday. I was in Vågå for our club’s annual meeting, and for the beginners course. The weather did not cooperate, so we only got a few flights on Sunday.

Now I’m packing for Australia, I’ll be leaving Friday morning. If things work out I’ll be posting news here from Oz. If there’s internet problems Erik will handle the postings for me.

I will try to upload some images if I can find a decent internet connection in Manilla, the GSM is a bit slow for that.

Another weekend as instructor, great fun. We had snowstorm on Sunday, but found a hill where the winds were calm enough. Tommy drove 580 km from Arendal to learn hangglding, that’s the spirit! (580 km back as well on Sunday night)

I flew a school-glider for the first time in 4 years this weekend, it was strange. We started a hangglider course this weekend in Vågå, cold and no wind, but it went well.

Good flight today. It was quite strong conditions early, and I met lots of pilots coming down from start. Met Johannes Moger at start, we rigged and flew in good conditions, there were even 3 m/s thermals coming up from the ridge. My harness zipper failed, and opened up totally in some strong turbulence. Scary moment when it failed… 2 PG pilots also flew later.

Got a short flight from Sundvollen today. I was late, but there was lots of pilots out flying today. Looks good for tomorrow as well.

I did try to fly one last flight this year. Some Y2K issues kept me at work for a few hours longer then I had hoped for, and when I came up to take-off it was blowing over the back and getting dark. Sigh.

Tomorrow is another day, so I’ll try to get the first flight in the new year here. (The forecast is not good, but who cares)
